About The Author

Eileen McPhillips Portner has been involved in the Counseling and Psychotherapy field since 1985 and is currently in private practice in Austin, Texas. Eileen has held various positions including Clinical Director of Psychiatric Hospitals, Director of a Private Day Psychiatric Hospitals, Instructor of Graduate Level Counseling Courses, and Owner/Partner of a Corporate Consulting and Training Company. Eileen is now happy to divide her time between her private clients and her writing.

Eileen believes that her opportunity to live overseas and travel extensively has broadened her perspective considerably on health and wellness. She now combines traditional methods of healing with complimentary therapies resulting in a thoroughly holistic experience including mind, spirit, and body.

A native New Yorker, Eileen now divides her time between Austin, Texas in the hills and Rockport, Texas on the water, accompanied by her husband and a menagerie of animals. The star of the group is undoubtedly Seamus, an 80- pound, deaf Dalmatian who shells his own peanuts, opens his own doors, and believes that he is a lap dog.
